Can you really write and self-publish a nonfiction book in 8 weeks?
Yes! This is exactly what I teach in my group writing program, Your Brilliant Book. And I followed my own program to write and self-publish my most recent book, SANCTUARY in under two months.
However, in order to turn your ideas into a book you’ll need to have a plan and set goals that honor your REAL life and other commitments.
Before you set out to write a book in 8 weeks, you’ll need to answer these three questions honestly:
1 - What is the scope of your project? Even if you’re drawing on existing resources you’ve already written, you’ll need to choose a word count or page count that’s achievable for you.
2 - What’s your capacity? Evaluate your other commitments in both work and life so you can get clear about how much time and energy you have to dedicate to this project.
3 - How much support can you create for yourself? Whether it’s at home or work, determine what kind of support you need through the book writing journey so you can stay focused on completing your work.
I walk you through these keys in the video below (and tell you WHY you might want to write a book so quickly!)
